Empower your child with kitchen confidence! Our camps are an opportunity for your mini-chef to get hands-on experience under the guidance of professional chefs. They’ll have a ton of fun, explore new foods, and learn essential skills that will last a lifetime! With approachable yet challenging menus, students will become familiar with new ingredients and cooking techniques. Recommended for young chefs aged 8-13.
At Camp Tablespoon, our professional staff will keep your camper engaged and curious with hands-on learning. Camp Tablespoon is designed to pique kids’ curiosity about new foods and skills, and help them become more confident in the kitchen.

Ages
Camp Tablespoon is a three day, in-person day camp for young chefs ages 8-13. If your child is outside of this age range, please reach out to us prior to registration so we can discuss if Camp is right for your child.

For mini chefs eager to make their own meals! Learn to make homemade bagels, which we’ll turn into pizza bagels, carbonara, mini tiramisu, chicken & biscuits and even succotash!
Around The World
June 18-20
Great for kids who are ready to explore flavors of the world! We’ll make dishes like chicken enchiladas, churro rice krispy treats, chicken pad thai and summer rolls, gochujang caramel cookies, flatbread, chicken shawarma & more!
Sweet Treats
July 9-11
For mini-chefs with a sweet tooth! Your child will love learning to make lemon ricotta pancakes, scrambled eggs, candied bacon, blueberry muffins, oatmeal scones, cinnamon rolls & more!
American Classics (new for 2025!)

American cuisine is eclectic and delicious, with cultural influences that span the globe. From a southern mac & cheese and chicken-fried steak to Cincinnati 3-ways, your child will love making a diverse variety of specialties from coast-to-coast!
Sweet & Savory Baking
July 23-25
For the camper who loves sweet and salty treats! Learn to make savory baked goods like mini quiches, buttermilk biscuits and even soft pretzels! We’ll also enjoy chocolate chip cookie pie and blueberry scones.
Each session of camp lasts 3 days, 11am-1:30pm daily.

Pricing
Early Bird! $230 per camper + fees (sale ends March 5th)
Regular: $285 per camper + fees
Campers will work in pairs at a cooking station set with everything they need for class: pre-measured ingredients, equipment, burners, and aprons. All campers will work in pairs. If your child signs up with a friend, we’ll have them work together. If your child signs up alone, we’ll pair them up with another camper. Similarly, if your child attends in a group of 3 or 5, a camper they don’t know will be assigned to their group.
Campers Will Get…
- 3 days of hands-on learning: Campers will learn through kneading, mixing, smelling & tasting! They’ll learn through doing the work themselves.
- To eat what they cook every day: Campers will typically bring home leftovers as well!
- Instruction from professional chefs: Campers will receive instruction from our professional chefs, and individual attention as needed.
- To try new foods: Your camper will be encouraged to try new dishes and ingredients.

What skills are going to be taught at camp?
Camp Tablespoon is designed so that campers walk away full of culinary knowledge and kitchen confidence. We’ll go over important skills such as:
- Proper kitchen hygiene and sanitation
- Kitchen & food safety (including the use of knives and burners)
- How to read & follow a recipe
- Cooking creativity
- Time management
- Heat management on the stovetop and oven
- Identifying ingredients and equipment
- Food and cooking history
- Culinary terminology
- Knife skills
- Skills & techniques such as whisking, mixing, kneading, folding, cutting, sautéing, roasting, etc.
- Measuring ingredients
- Flavor, aroma and seasoning
How does Camp Tablespoon Work?
- Select Your Session: Choose the dates and menu that work best for your family. Early Bird Registration opens February 27th at Noon.
- Watch Your Inbox: Once you register, be on the lookout for important camp information. We will send reminder emails to help you get prepared for camp.
- Attend Camp Tablespoon: Join us for in-person camp at our beautiful kitchen in historic Findlay Market. Make lifelong memories, have fun, and learn kitchen independence!

What’s the overall camp vibe? Will it be fun?
At Tablespoon, we like our classes to be fun, relaxed and laid back. That being said, campers will be using burners & knives, so we expect that campers are able to be mature and focused when required. It is our expectation that campers will be respectful of staff & others.
What is the appropriate age for Camp Tablespoon?
Our camp is recommended for kids aged 8-13. If your child is outside of this age range, please reach out to us prior to registration so we can discuss if Camp is right for your child.

Please contact us prior to registering so we can discuss whether Camp Tablespoon is right for your child. Our first priority is to ensure that we’re able to provide a safe space for your child to cook and eat. We work in a space that is regularly exposed to soy, wheat, nuts, and dairy products.
What does drop-off & pick-up look like each day?
Doors open 15 minutes prior to the camp start time, and we kindly ask that you pick-up your child on time.
