I want to purchase a membership but I know of a few months I can’t make it. Can I bank my unused tickets or roll them over to another month?
Memberships are valid for 6 or 12 consecutive months after purchase. If you’re not able to make it, you’re welcome to send a friend in your place! Just let us know!
Do I have to purchase a membership or can I just register for the individual months that I want to attend?
Sure, you can just register for individual months. The membership program was created based on the requests of our frequent Cookbook Club attendees. The membership provides some cost savings and fun perks.
I purchased a membership, but now I don’t think I’m going to be able to use it. Can I get my money back.
We’re sorry but all sales are final.
If I become a member, do I still have to register each month?
Yes, we ask that you RSVP so we know who is coming. We’ll also need to know what dish you’re bringing!
Previously, the winner of best dish was awarded a ticket to the next month’s meeting. If I have a membership, what will my prize be if I win?
We’ll extend your membership by 1 month!
I see that I can bring a friend for 50% off. Can the same person use this every month?
The coupon is valid for new members only, so the coupon cannot be used for the same person multiple times.
Does my friend need to bring a dish and RSVP?
Yes, please! We will provide a personalized code that your guest can use to purchase their ticket, and then they’ll need to RSVP with what dish they’re bringing.
What if a meeting is cancelled?
We’ve already planned the *tentative* dates for 2019 and we’re confident we won’t need to cancel. However, if we do have to cancel a meeting, we will either extend your membership another month or provide some sort of equal alternative. We only ever cancel for low attendance, so we’re hoping this membership program will help keep our members engaged.
What is Tablespoon and what do you do?
Tablespoon Cooking Co. is the host and organizer of this Cookbook Club. Our main gig is teaching cooking classes at Findlay Market. The Tablespoon Chefs will supplement the meal with additional sides and pair them with great wines throughout the meal. All you have to do is bring your favorite dish from the book and show up ready to eat, drink, and make friends!
Why must we pay a fee AND bring a dish?
Fees help cover the cost of the space, the wine, supplementary dishes provided by Tablespoon and our time spent organizing the event.
What if I am coming from work? Can I reheat my food when I get there?
We’re sorry but we currently do not have the capacity to reheat any food. If you’re coming from work, we recommend bringing something that can be made in advance and served cold or at room temperature. Baked goods are typically a good option. We’re always happy to help you figure out a dish that will work for your schedule and talk to you about the best way to prep your food in advance.
Are serving dishes and utensils available?
Tablespoon will provide disposable plates, utensils napkins and wine glasses. Each guest is responsible for bringing their serving dish and serving utensil. It’s always a good idea to bring containers for leftovers as well!
I have an allergy or a strict dietary restriction. Is cookbook club right for me?
It depends. Each month is different and part of the fun is we never quite know the mix of dishes that will show up. We’ll work with you to make every effort to ensure you have something to eat, but we cannot guarantee dishes will be allergy free.
Can kids attend?
We welcome children as long as they are properly supervised and have purchased a ticket. We want to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, has an enjoyable time at Cookbook Club. We will not serve alcohol to anyone under the age of 21.
